Our combined emergency and urgent care centers offer a unique approach to care — and to billing. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality care at the lowest cost.
Our fair billing practices keep your costs low.
At UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Centers, emergency-trained staff see every patient. However, most of our patients only need urgent care services. Our fair billing practices ensure you’ll only pay urgent care costs if you only receive urgent care services during your visit.
Each insurance company negotiates rates for its members. Your specific health insurance plan states what out-of-pocket expenses you need to pay for urgent care or emergency services. During your visit, we will collect fees for your copay, co-insurance and/or deductible based on the level of care you received.
We accept many health insurance plans.
UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Centers, along with University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc., have contracts with a wide range of private and commercial insurance plans, including government plans, workers’ compensation and behavioral health plans.
The term in-network means we contract with your insurance company and have agreed on the cost you will pay for services provided to you. Out-of-network means we do not have a contract with your insurance company. We cannot guarantee network participation with any specific payor.
Please contact your insurance company by visiting their website for customer support or calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card. They can explain details about your insurance plan, including any referral and authorization requirements and out-of-pocket costs.
State law requires that we treat all patients regardless of your insurance plan or ability to pay.
